Village on the river Lužnice mentioned in 1323. Close to the weir is well preserved Classicistic mill, today small hydro-electric power station. Close to the village starts vast nature reserve Horní Lužnice (Upper Lužnice), with protected alluvial plain and untouched meandering river flow.
